CHANGE TO CHECKLIST FOR CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION
On February 16, 2011, City Council passed Ordinance #42 deleting the required city bond needed for Contractor Registration. Effective MARCH 15, 2011 the following is needed to obtain a Contractor Registration with the City of Cincinnati, City Planning and Buildings Department. Any Contractor Registration package submitted without the bond before March 15, 2011 will not be issued until the effective date of March 15, 2011.
Contractor Registration
In order to protect you -- the consumer -- the City of Cincinnati requires all contractors performing work in the City of Cincinnati limits to maintain a current contractor registration, which must be renewed on an annual basis.
All building construction contractors are to be insured and current with their income taxes on wages earned in the city limits. Please click on the links below to download the application and required forms:

Department of Transportation and Engineering: A Department of Transportation and Engineering (DOTE) street opening permit, obtained by a licensed street contractor with DOTE, is required for all improvements in the public right-of-way. This includes sidewalks, driveways, and utility services that will be constructed in the public right-of-way. All improvements in the public right-of-way must be built to City standards, policies and guidelines. Application for permits may be obtained and submitted at the Business Development and Permit Center located at 3300 Central Parkway, or at Room 425, City Hall, 801 Plum Street. Please note that plan drawings (two sets) to be reviewed by DOTE must be attached to the permit application.
