Citizen Complaint & Internal Audit

The Mission of the Citizen Complaint Section

The mission of Citizen Complaint is to investigate serious interventions by police officers including, but not limited to discharging of firearms, deaths in custody, use of excessive force, improper pointing of firearms, improper search and seizures, and to resolve all citizen complaints in a fair and efficient manner.

The Mission of the Internal Audit Section

Internal Audit conducts comprehensive performance audits of selected city programs, systems, and functions in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Audit Standards (GAGAS). We respond with internal or contract resources to emergent Council or City Manager issues requiring audit objectivity.

Internal Audit seeks to promote and enhance the effective and efficient performance of our city agencies and programs. To that end, the Internal Audit Division strives to help "managers manage better."
