District Fire Chief Gregory A. Potter reported on a One-Alarm structure fire that occurred in the Mt. Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati in the early morning of February 3, 2012. At 5:49 AM the Cincinnati Emergency Communications Center received several telephone calls reporting an apartment building on fire at 2329 Beechmont Ave.
Initial arriving units reported a “working” fire in a two story frame vacant apartment building. Heavy fire was showing from the first and second floors of the building. An aggressive interior attack was initiated and the fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes. This was a vacant structure and there were no occupants living in the building at the time of the fire.
Damage is estimated at $50,000. There were no reported injuries. Cause of the fire is in under investigation by the Cincinnati Fire Department Fire Investigations Unit.
