Salary:  $37,468 - $39,338 annually

The Cincinnati Health Department is seeking a certified and experienced Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in the preparation of prescriptions dispensed in our clinic pharmacies.  The successful candidate should have at least one year of retail or hospital pharmacy experience and enjoy working with health professionals such as pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and dentists.  The applicant should have excellent communication skills.  Pharmacy technician duties and performance are directly supervised by the clinic pharmacist.  This position requires a daytime work schedule with no weekend hours or driving.

  2. BY U.S. MAIL – Download application forms from this site http://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/cityhr/pages/-4284-/, complete them, and return them by first class U.S. Mail to the City of Cincinnati Human Resources Department, Two Centennial Plaza, 805 Central Avenue, Suite 200, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.  Application and supporting documents must be postmarked no later than the closing date.  You may submit your detailed resume in lieu of the Work Experience Form.  Please enclose a copy of your driver’s license or state ID card with your mailed application package.

TRANSCRIPTS showing your qualifications for this position must be submitted by the deadline date.  The City does not maintain a transcript file; you must submit transcripts with each application you submit.  You may submit a readable photocopy of your official transcripts in lieu of requesting a new copy from the school for each application.  Please note: copies of unofficial versions or internet printouts of transcripts are NOT acceptable.

QUALIFICATIONS: Each applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must be a Certified Pharmacy technician (CPhT); must have a minimum of one year experience in a licensed pharmacy department.  Successful completion of a certified pharmacy technician program is required.  All required experience must have occurred within the last (5) five years.   You are required to show your valid driver's license or state ID card to the Human Resources Department staff NO LATER THAN THE DEADLINE DATE FOR FILING APPLICATIONS.  Must be an Ohio resident at the time of appointment.

A criminal background investigation will be conducted for this position (according to Civil Service Commission Rule 15 – Sensitive Classifications/Positions and the Critical Infrastructure Protection Act of 2001 and the Patriot Act). The purpose is to detect security risks and prevent security threats posed by potential employees.
