B.I.K.E

Bicycling Inspires Kids Environmentally is an opportunity for the Cincinnati Recreation Commission and the Cincinnati Police Department to reconnect Cincinnati’s inner-city youth ages 11 through 17 with nature through biking.

The overall purpose of B.I.K.E is to foster understanding between teens and police through the common interests of biking and outdoor education. Cincinnati Police Volunteers and Cincinnati Recreation Staff have led over 300 youth ages 11-17 on fourteen to twenty mile bike rides on the Little Miami Scenic State Park Bike Trail through out the spring, summer and fall of 2009. In addition to outdoor fitness the youth received historical information about the Little Miami River valley, Milford and Loveland, including tours of Camp Dennison’s Farm where the youth have the opportunity to pet and feed the animals.

2010 B.I.K.E Program Details and Registration Materials will be available through your local CRC Recreation Centers
