Class and Program Instructors - Frequently Asked Questions

    1. How do I sign up as a CRC program instructor?

To sign up as a CRC instructor simply stop by the CRC recreation center where you want to teach and sign an instructor’s agreement.  Once you and the site supervisor have agreed on the program details the agreement will be submitted to the Commission Board or approval.  Turn-around time is about two weeks.

  1. How do I schedule classes and/or programs?

Programs and classes are scheduled through the individual recreation center.

CRC retains the right to review program content for appropriateness.

  1. How do I get paid for my services?

The CRC instructor agreement spells out the payment details. As a contractor with CRC you will be responsible for collecting class fees and remitting your facility use fee to the recreation center as per the agreement.

  1. Can I set my own class fees?

The CRC instructor agreement provides for significant instructor flexibility in setting fees and establishing class size.  Class minimums/maximums are dependent on room availability. Class and program fees are subject to final approval by CRC.

  1. If I work as a contractor program instructor am I an employee of CRC?

No, by entering into the agreement you agree that you will be working as an independent contractor and not as an employee of CRC or the City of Cincinnati.
