Harrison Avenue Improvement Project

White Street

Issue: White Street approaches Harrison Avenue at a very steep grade (20%). It is an unsignalized intersection. Vehicles turning onto Harrison Avenue from White Street encounter difficulties due to the steep grade and poor sight lines of conflicting traffic traveling on Harrison Avenue. There are no turn lanes on Harrison Avenue for vehicles slowing/stopping to turn onto White Street.

Cul-de-sac White Street. This would eliminate the intersection of White Street and Harrison Avenue. This would force all vehicles wanting to get to Harrison Avenue to use Fairmount and use the traffic signal.
