Cincinnati Police Department Records Section receives, reviews and files most criminal offense reports, accident reports and related records, and processes traffic violation citations and applications for firearm transfers and registrations.
Records Section is located in Room 328 of City Hall, at 801 Plum Street. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday except holidays.

Records Checks
The Cincinnati Police Department does not provide Records Checks. Contact the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts, 1000 Sycamore Street, Room 100. The phone number for Record Checks is 513-946-6213.
The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) has an online customer service that allows drivers to check out an “unofficial” copy of their driving record. The unofficial records can not be used as evidence in court, to verify a driving record for employment or for getting car insurance. To access this service visit the BMV website at www.ohiobmv.com.
Parking Tickets
Police Records Section does not accept payment for tickets. Contact Hamilton County Courts at 513-946-6010 or pay tickets 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the Hamilton County Justice Center, 1000 Sycamore Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202. Pay Parking tickets online at www.courtclerk.org/pay_parking.asp , or by telephone using a Visa or Mastercard (513)946-6000.
For investigation into tickets that are believed to be issued to the wrong person, provide the following:
- Driver's/Owner's name and address
- Telephone number
- Ticket number
- License plate number
- Date of occurrence
- Problem statement (i.e., malfunctioning parking meter, blocked sign)
Investigation requests can be mailed to Police Records Section at City Hall, 801 Plum Street, Room 328, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202, e-mailed to cpdrecords@cincinnati-oh.gov, or faxed to 513-352-6402.
When an investigation is completed, you will receive a letter or e-mail advising you how to proceed or informing you that the matter will be resolved and that no further action on your part will be necessary.
Accident Reports
Reports for accidents that occurred within the Cincinnati City limits are available five to seven business days after the date the accident was reported. To obtain a copy of a report you will be required to provide the following:
- Name of driver(s)
- Date of occurrence
- Location of accident
Accident reports may be picked up at City Hall, 801 Plum Street, Room 328, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202 or may be obtained by mail. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope and $.15 per report. Include in the request the information listed above. Also provide a fax number and an e-mail address in the event the report can be faxed. (Not all reports are available to be sent electronically.)

Offense/Incident Reports
Incident reports are accessible at Records Section within five to seven business days after the report has been filed. To obtain a copy of a report you will be required to provide:
- Name of person(s) involved
- Date of occurrence
- Type of occurrence, such as burglary, assault, theft
- Location of occurrence
Incident reports may be picked up at City Hall, 801 Plum Street, Room 328, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202 or can be obtained by mail. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope and $.20 per report. Include the information listed above. Also provide a fax number in the event the report can be faxed.

Moving Violations and Arrest Reports
Individual moving violations and individual arrest reports are accessible at Cincinnati Police Records Section. To obtain a copy, you will have to provide the following information to enable a search for the type of ticket/report requested:
- Name of person involved/cited
- Date of occurrence/arrest
- Location of occurrence
- Social Security Number
- Date of Birth

Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope and $.05 per report. Include the information listed above. Also provide a fax number in the event the report can be faxed.

EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 2000, in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code Section 149.43, the fee schedule for official Cincinnati Police Department reports defined as being “Public Records” is as follows:
